Racing Fast Blaze, Tenant Tried To Rouse Neighbors

When John Carney awoke early yesterday morning to the sight of flames licking his living room window, he threw on some clothes and desperately tried to get other tenants out of his Arlington condo complex before the building was consumed by a fast-moving four-alarm fire that left one man dead.“I saw this flash of yellow and orange light inside my living room window and it woke me up,” said Carney, whose ground-level unit was among the most severely damaged of the 36 affected by the fire at Brookside Condominiums in Arlington.
