The great dilemma for Kyle Haynes might be solved with some seasoning. At times, the 25-year-old right-hander has been brilliant while pitching for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders over the past two years. At other times, the starting pitcher has been perplexing. And often, both ends of that spectrum intersect in the same game. Take Friday night, for example. Haynes had a stretch where he retired seven of nine batters, and although he wasn’t exactly cruising through a start against Toledo, he was admirably batting his way through some danger in a 2-2 game after four innings. Then he created some trouble for himself. With two outs in the fifth inning, Haynes walked two straight batters, including speedy Anthony Gose — a former first-round draft pick of the Philadelphia Phillies. Two RBI singles later, and Haynes was out of the game while the RailRiders were on their way to a 4-2 loss. “Any game you walk people, anytime you put runners on base when you don’t have to, you’re asking for trouble,” RailRiders manager Al Pedrique said.
