Rare Deep-water Whale Washes Up On Beach In Plymouth

Biologists at the New England Aquarium are performing a necropsy today at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution on a rarely seen beaked whale, whose carcass washed up on rocks yesterday at Jones Beach in Plymouth.Aquarium authorities, led by Regina Asmutis-Silvia, executive director of the non-profit Whale and Dolphin Conservation, have not handled a beaked whale in nearly a decade.
