BIG STONE GAP — Friday’s season opener looked like one for both Eastside and Union. Each baseball team made its share of mistakes. Both also had their good points as Eastside pounded out 10 hits and got solid pitching on the way to a 4-2 nondistrict win over Union at Buster Taylor Field. Eastside coach Chris Clay thought his team played a little like it was its first game but was pleased with what he saw from his Spartans. “We did a lot of good stuff,” Clay said.
