U.S. Rep. Lauren Underwood said Tuesday she was in support of an investigation into the actions of the Trump campaign to welcome foreign help in 2016 and called it “essentially an impeachment inquiry.” Underwood, D-Naperville, was asked about her thoughts on impeaching President Donald Trump at a town hall meeting in Shorewood. “No person in America is above the law, including the President of the United States,” Underwood said. “The Mueller report lays out substantial evidence that the president’s campaign actively worked with a foreign adversary to influence the 2016 election,” she added.
