The longtime Bears linebacker will visit the 49ers on Monday, ESPN Chicago reported. Briggs, 34, has spent his entire 12-year career with the Bears, who won’t re-sign the seven-time Pro Bowler on the heels of two injury plagued seasons. Last year, he missed three games with a rib injury before being placed on injured reserve for the final five games with a groin injury. The 49ers were found guilty of tampering and forced to forfeit a fifth-round pick in the 2008 draft after they contacted Briggs’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus, about his client during the 2007 season. Briggs is tied for fourth among active players with five interception returns for a touchdown and his six career touchdowns are the most by an active linebacker.
