Being a single mother living in a new state can come with financial challenges, as Sullivan County resident Stacy* has experienced. Stacy and her 8-year-old daughter, Shyanne, moved to East Tennessee after Shyanne’s father passed away. Shortly after her birth, Shyanne was diagnosed with leukemia, but has been in remission for five years. Living with leukemia Shyanne was born early and was diagnosed with leukemia at six months old, Stacy said.
