Cool days and even cooler nights are blissful during autumn in Colorado — especially after the late summer heat we had to endure this year. Time to get out, take a walk among the pumpkins and revel in a fall festival or three. Here are some of the spots in Colorado to visit farm animals, take a hayride, sip some cider, get lost in a corn maze, buy some gourds and maybe get the bejesus scared out of you by a ghastly ghoul. A Denver Nuggets superfan known as the “Red Pant Man” has been accused of squandering the profits from his single-branch Lakewood bank on “a veritable fleet of aircraft.” Michael Quagliano, an Illinois native who lives in Florida, is the majority shareholder and chairman at the publicly traded Solera National Bank, which opened in 2006 with a focus on Hispanic customers.

After more than a year of construction and renovation, a much-loved watering hole reopened last week in the town of Minturn, which is located two miles up a valley from Interstate 70 near Vail. The Minturn Saloon — which The Denver Post named in 2018 as one of Colorado’s most iconic bars — had a busy first weekend back in business as both locals and leaf-peepers made their way over to check out the changes over a few margaritas. Built in 1901, after a fire burned parts of the 1880s-era mining town, “the building has always housed a restaurant and bar, as well as serving as a pool, boxing hall and gambling joint at one point or another,” according to the Minturn Saloon’s website. The Minturn Saloon’s bar is usually filled with skiers and snowboarders who just came down the Minturn Mile during the ski season.
