Former state Superintendent Ed Richardson said the Birmingham Board of Education's central office on Park Place will be sold. According to al.com, Richardson said the central office building is among 10 to 15 other Birmingham school system properties that will be declared surplus and placed on the real estate market. Richardson said he anticipates that the building will be easy to sell because of its location across the street from Linn Park and near the Jefferson County Courthouse.
