While wintry weather helped chill customers’ interest in the past week, operators of downtown Jacksonville’s river taxis have been looking for ways to expand their role beyond the city contract they signed a few months ago. “We think it can, and should, be more than a ‘taxi’ service that merely takes people from one side of the river to the other,” said Heather Surface, a partner in Lakeshore Marine, the company the city picked this year to operate the boats. read more
