Rockies pitcher Justin Lawrence was suspended for 80 games on Friday as a result of a violation of Major League Baseball’s Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. Lawrence, 25, has yet to make his MLB debut but is on the Rockies’ 40-man roster. As a highly-regarded, right-hander sidearm reliever, Lawrence split time between Double-A Hartford and Triple-A Albuquerque last year.
