Long before Ron Wolf resurrected the Green Bay Packers, long before he hired Mike Holmgren as head coach and traded for quarterback Brett Favre, another challenge presented itself: Wolf wanted to draft Ken Stabler for the Raiders, and Stabler threw left-handed. This was a crazy notion in 1968. “At that time, a lot of people didn’t think a left-hander could play quarterback in the NFL, even though Frankie Albert played for the 49ers for several years,” Wolf said.
