Royal Oak Schools are doing well academically but would do better financially if voters approve state Proposal 1 to fix roads and increase state funding for schools, says Superintendent Shawn Lewis-Lakin.Proposal 1 seeks to hike Michigan's sales tax from 6 to 7 percent to generate $1.25 billion for roads and $200 million annually in new money for public schools statewide.
