The University of Colorado A-Line won acclaim this week after the American Public Transportation Association lauded the promotion and marketing efforts behind the 18-month-old commuter rail line to Denver International Airport as being “among the best” in the nation. The Regional Transportation District won an AdWheel Grand Award for its “Train to the Plane” campaign, which resulted in more than 255 million multimedia impressions over a three-month period and drew 100,000 people to opening events. APTA said ridership on the A-Line has gone up by 30 percent — with 22,500 average weekday riders this past summer — over what was projected when the line opened in April 2016.
