CAIRO (AP) — Africa's football body says it has upheld a decision to throw Rwanda out of African Cup qualifying for fielding a player who had two identities and was using different names and passports for club and international games. The Confederation of African Football announced the decision over the weekend after hearing Rwanda's appeal against its disqualification from the continent's top tournament. CAF said Rwanda's football federation knew about striker Dady Birori's "double identity" but still allowed him to play for the Rwandan team. CAF said that while representing Rwanda, Birori was registered under a different name — Tady Etekiama — and using a different, Congolese passport with his Congo club AS Vita.
