Sacramento Delays Laying Off 150 Employees For A Month

Roughly 150 layoffs in the city of Sacramento will be delayed for one month after the Sacramento City Council voted Tuesday to use parking fees to keep those workers on while city officials negotiate with three unions. Should negotiations between the city and Locals 39, 447 and 1176 fall through without an agreement over salary concessions, the layoffs would take place in late July.
