Sanitation Absence During Blizzard Was A Calculated Budget Protest

During the blizzard that crippled New York City, 720 sanitation workers called in sick, effectively shutting down the city's response to the storm. Snow removal slowed, especially in outer boroughs, which in some cases meant that emergency services couldn't get to those who needed help most. Now the New York Post has learned that this wasn't a managerial misstep, but a union's purposeful protest over budgetary conflicts.
