In “South of Market: The Musical v2,” there’s a self-driving car company named “ai.ai,” which has a position called “chief ideation officer” and a deep fondness for Slack and walking meetings. Another company in the show, SearchBar, claims the “problem of diversity” is a nonissue. Trying to cover the whole scene is a cub tech reporter, Alex, who wants to make her big stamp on journalism but whose editorial meetings are all about Web traffic and listicles. In short, this satirical musical — which has a book by Jenny Arimoto, Sarah Cooper and John Russell and music and lyrics by Tareq Abuissa — only slightly exaggerates life in the tech sector.
