Section Of Rt. 66 Near Sneedville Reopened

SNEEDVILLE — A section of Rt. 66N that collapsed last week in Hawkins County near Sneedville has reopened, according to a report by TDOT spokesman Mark Nagi. On Feb. 7 a section of roadway just south of the Hancock County line collapsed due to heavy rain. Nagi said loose material was cleared from the site and the roadway replaced by construction of a rock buttress. “We had to remove the unstable material and install a rock buttress using graded solid rock,” Nagi said.
