Q: My mother is going into the hospital for minor surgery. What do I need to know to help her and be her advocate? It is expected that she will spend a few nights in the hospital before she can return home. Mom is 85 years old, lives alone and is in fairly good health.A: The day you bring your mother to the hospital for surgery will be a very long day.
