Tim Watkins, 60, was found shot to death Sunday in the Mount Herman area, days after he left for a mountain bike ride and never returned. His death is being investigated as a homicide. No suspects have publicly been identified. While it's not necessary to avoid the Mount Herman area, it is important to take precautions when hiking or biking anywhere, said Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Jacqueline Kirby.
