Shields Unhappy After Padres' 8-4 Loss To Dodgers

SAN DIEGO (AP) — James Shields didn't want to sound like he was complaining, but he wasn't pleased. Shields struggled through five innings as he walked a season-high six batters before the Padres bullpen turned a close game into a rout. Justin Ruggiano and Adrian Gonzalez hit two-run homers and Chase Utley added a solo shot in a five-run sixth inning as the Los Angeles Dodgers hit five homers in an 8-4 win over San Diego on Friday night. Carl Crawford and rookie Scott Schebler added solo home runs as the Dodgers increased their NL West lead to a season-high 7 1/2 games over San Francisco, which lost 2-1 at Colorado. Although Shields got no decision after leaving with the game tied at 3-all, he was unhappy when asked about the walks. "You can go through with each pitch and kind of analyze the pitches," Shields said.Read more on NewsOK.com
