Denver’s oldest African-American church held a get-out-the-vote drive Sunday with the Rev. Timothy Tyler blessing ballots and some congregants walking or driving to drop them off at a polling station set up at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Tyler told his congregation that they can’t afford not to vote, and that is up to them to get out in the community and let the world know that God expects everyone to feed the hungry and care for the poor. He made only a veiled reference to the current presidential candidates, saying that he has seen a candidate that can’t discuss issues, but does discuss “body parts,” a reference to Republican Donald Trump.
