Showers Helps Utep Shut Out Utsa 34-0

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — UTEP hadn't won a conference game on the road since 2012, but Jameill Showers changed that in a hurry, rolling out to his right and finding Jaquan White down the sideline for a 75-yard scoring pass on UTEP's fifth play of the game, boosting the Miners to a 34-0 shutout of UTSA Saturday night. Showers hit Aaron Jones on a screen pass that went 40 yards for a 14-0 lead in the first 12 minutes as UTEP (4-3, 2-1 Conference USA) held San Antonio (2-6, 1-3) to a single first down in each half.
