Small Storm Begins To Dampen Northern California

A small storm was moving into the Bay Area on Friday evening, but forecasters say the on-and-off rain expected over the next few days will hardly warrant an umbrella. Parts of Northern California and Monterey Bay were seeing rain Friday afternoon, sometimes heavy, according to the weather service. San Francisco and Oakland are expected to see the variable weather continue through Sunday, forecaster say, along with increasingly cool temperatures. The weather system this weekend, coming in from the Gulf of Alaska, is anticipated to be a bit stronger in the Sierra, dropping snow as low as 4,000 feet.
