MONTICELLO – Incumbent Mayor Gary Sommers and Trustee George Nikolados will square off in a race for the village’s top elected job on March 18.The mayor’s job is a part-time position with a four-year term and a salary of $9,668.Sommers was appointed mayor on May 16, 2018, two months after being elected to a trustee position.He replaced Doug Solomon, who resigned as mayor after being appointed police chief in the City of Newburgh.
