Scott Morris take their stance to prepare for TCT Off Broadway’s upcoming production of “The Halloween Trilogy,” this weekend at 213 E. Franklin St. By W. Derek Russell Daily Journal TUPELO – Nothing plays tricks on your mind quite like shadows. Did you see something move out of the corner of your eye, or was it just your imagination? The shadows will come out to play this weekend at Tupelo Community Theatre Off Broadway for their production of “The Halloween Trilogy.” Director Carlton Wall and his cast have taken what was once a dramatized radio play and upped the ante for the ultimate fear factor. “The original directors took three classic stories from Rudyard Kipling, Edgar Allan Poe and Oscar Wilde,” said Wall, “and they did amazing things to make those classic tales like an old radio program like ‘The Shadow.’” The three tales performed in the production are “The Mark of the Beast,” “The Cask of Amontillado” and “The Canterville Ghost.” Wall said it was an honor to be asked to direct such classic stories, but he really wanted to find a way to tweak the edges into something even more memorable. “We added, just totally on our own accord, this silhouette aspect,” he said. The actors do the entire show behind a sheet with their shadows performing – adding an even eerier effect to the production. “That’s a Tupelo original,” Wall said. Incorporating the shadows brought the show new life in TCT’s Off Broadway location on East Franklin Street, behind the BancorpSouth Arena.
