Shelton B. Bowens, a senior biology major at Savannah State University, is a 2015 White House Initiative on HBCUs All-Star. Bowens was one of 83 students in the nation appointed to serve as a program ambassador. He will attend the national summit in Washington, D.C. Bowens is a native of Oglethorpe, Ga.
