Stamford Man To Answer For $30k Theft From Step-mom

The woman said she suspected that her step-son Demetrious “Jimmy” Roumeliotes, 37. may have taken it because he has long-term drug problem and he had packed up his possessions and left just before she discovered that the money, which she was saving to take care of her dental problems and home repairs, was gone, Roumeliotes’ arrest affidavit says. The woman told police that a few days after the money was taken, Roumeliotes called her from Miami and admitted that he took it and vowed to catch a flight to Greece and spend all the money if she called the police, the affidavit says. Police investigated the burglary and obtained probable cause for Roumeliotes‘ arrest and Miami authorities discovered him in their city and let Stamford know that he was being held for extradition.
