A Darien landscaping company that has its storage facility on Stamford's East Side was burglarized over the weekend after thieves stole thousands of dollars' worth of lawn care and maintenance equipment, police said. The acting manager of the company showed police where the burglars cut the chain on a 10-foot fence and then used bolt cutters again to cut a padlock securing a storage container holding many of the motorized hand tools used by the firm's employees. Missing from the container were three backpack leaf blowers, three snow blowers, three hedge trimmers, three chain saws and a welding machine, Connelly said. There was not a value attached to the equipment as police are waiting for the company owner to return from an out of state trip.
