As a lifelong Star Trek fan, the appeal of Warballoon’s Star Command is obvious. Manage my own eye-catching starship crew and go on galaxy-spanning adventures? Awesome! What I discovered on my voyage, however, was less a universe of possibilities and more of a short gauntlet of predictable battles where the only real challenge is wrestling with complicated menus and finicky controls. Design problems aside, it’s obvious that an enormous amount of care and attention went into Star Command’s presentation.
