State Sen. Brian Hatfield, D-Raymond, becomes the third high-profile Democrat to leave the Legislature this year, announcing Tuesday he will become sector lead for rural economic development, working for Gov. Jay Inslee. Hatfield has worked in Southwest Washington politics for more than a quarter-century. He was an aide to two state senators, served in the state House of Representatives from 1994 to 2004 and has been in the state Senate since 2006.
