From the beginning, there's been a very strange relationship between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Netflix's Marvel shows. Tonally and stylistically, these shows could hardly be more different from the movies to which they're supposedly connected. And now with Netflix seemingly ready to jettison these shows entirely, it's time we all admit what's been obvious for a while.
