High winds and rain stormed across the Augusta area Thursday, and the National Weather Service said more could be on the way this weekend. For most of the afternoon, the area remained under a severe thunderstorm warning as rain flooded roads in Richmond and Columbia counties, knocking down power lines and blowing over trees.
