Heavy rain has created temporarily impassable conditions Wednesday night on Interstate 77 in the vicinity of the Vernon Odom Boulevard exit.Shortly after 9 p.m., police and medics were responding to reports of cars spinning out as they attempted to cross a river formed by flash flooding across the expressway. Traffic units were dispatched to try to divert traffic until the water dissipated.
