Under a foot of concrete, a construction crew uncovered streetcar rails where North Main Street crosses over Hogan Creek to Springfield. The rail could possibly be part of the first electric streetcar railway in Florida. Around the turn of the 20th century, mule or horse-drawn streetcars transported people on a fixed track around Jacksonville.
