“New York’s highest court on Tuesday dismissed Donald Trump’s appeal of the gag order imposed in his Manhattan criminal trial, dealing a setback to the former president’s efforts to strip the restrictions in the wake of his conviction,” Politico reports.

Matt Gaetz said the House Ethics Committee was opening a new investigation into him on Monday, the committee confirmed Tuesday that it is, indeed, continuing to look into the Florida Republican for a number of allegations, including “sexual misconduct and illicit drug use,” NOTUS reports.
“In late 2020, the Department of Justice began investigating Gaetz over allegations that he had sex trafficked a minor.

Katherine Miller: “There won’t be a trial anytime soon — or maybe ever — for Donald Trump on charges related to Jan. 6. No matter the Supreme Court presidential immunity decision, even if the court rules that a trial can proceed, there almost certainly won’t be enough time before the election.
“Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) has raised $20 million so far in the 2024 cycle, according to a source familiar with his political operations, besting his total for the 2022 cycle,” Punchbowl News reports.
“Cornyn is running to succeed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell as Senate GOP leader, and fundraising is a key element of his pitch to fellow Republicans.
