BLOUNTVILLE — It had been nearly five years since the Sullivan South Lady Rebels had lost a District 1-AA volleyball contest. On Tuesday night inside the Dickie Warren Dome, the Sullivan Central Lady Cougars halted South’s 52-game regular season conference winning streak — 65 counting postseason — with a thrilling five-set match 25-20, 26-28, 20-25, 25-17 and 15-8. It was the first time that Lady Cougars had beaten South, and it was an even bigger treat for coach Logan Kemp to celebrate with his team. “It was just pure joy, especially for the seniors,” Kemp said.
