Summit County is looking to buy the property next to the Board of Elections in Akron to turn the building into a permanent site for early voting. The county has offered $510,000 for the land at 492 and 500 Grant St., now home to the Rubber City McDonald’s franchise headquarters. The purchase would solve a major headache for local elections officials who have fought for years, especially during presidential elections, over where to hold early voting.“This puts an end to that,” said Jason Dodson, chief of staff for County Executive Russ Pry.
