By Bobby Harrison Daily Journal Jackson Bureau JACKSON — The Mississippi Supreme Court, in a decision released late Friday afternoon, has reaffirmed the ruling of a lower court that Chris McDaniel waited too long to file a legal challenge to his election lost to six-term incumbent U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran. Special Judge Hollis McGehee, appointed to hear the challenge by Supreme Court Chief Justice William Waller Jr., ruled in late August that under state law McDaniel had 20 days from the date of the June 24 Republican primary runoff election to file his challenge.
