Opera Mini 5.1 for Windows Mobile

With all the talk focused on Android, iPhone, and lately Windows Phone 7, I’m glad the guys at Opera haven’t forgetten about the group of us who are still using Windows Mobile 6.5 (or earlier versions). Opera released a native version of Opera Mini 5 Beta for Windows Mobile earlier this year, and being a beta release, it was buggy. Sometime in September, they finally got a chance fix those bugs and improve the page rendering.

The technology looks promising as it predicts what you wanna write even by not really paying attention to what you're typing lol...so Google scooped up the firm probably to add the technology in Android, let's hope at least they do.

Nokia App Downloads hit 2.3 million a day, trail Apple

Nokia today publicly confirmed a milestone for the Ovi Store that also highlighted its current struggle to gain support from developers. The company now says that it sees 2.3 million downloads every day, up from just two million only a few weeks earlier. About 200,000 new users sign on each day.

Google aims to make app creation easy

It's not uncommon these days for people to know how to build websites and create blogs. That's largely because sites like WordPress, Blogger and Tumblr have simplified the process, so you don't have to be a code wonk to publish.

Senh: Nice. I hope people don't start making apps that are just mobile versions of their websites. I hate it when I'm redirected to mobile sites. I prefer to view the full site, like on my desktop computer. If I want a mobile version of my site, I wouldn't have bought a smartphone with multi-touch.

Yet Another Droppedboxx App for Windows Mobile

About a month ago, if you want access to your Dropbox files from your Windows Mobile phone, your only option is Ruttensoft's CloudFiles. Now, they have a competitor - Droppedboxx. It's not as fully featured as CloudFiles, but it gets the job done, especially if all you want to do is ftp between your phone and your Dropbox account.

The only feature I miss from CloudFiles is the internal text editor, but I can live without it. Price wise, the official releases for Cloud Files and Droppedboxx are $6.99 and $2.99 respectively.
