Miley Cyrus Boosts Two and a Half Men Ratings, Beauty and the Beast Takes Ugly Turn

Behind every great Two and a Half Men episode, there's a great (and very blond) woman! That's the takeaway from last night's TV ratings, given that Miley Cyrus' first guest appearance on Ashton Kutcher's CBS sitcom lead the show to season-high numbers. Her debut episode brought in 13.6 million viewers and a 4.0 rating in the adults 18-49 demo, a 14 percent jump from last week.

NBC won the night among adults 18-49 and in total viewers with 31.42 million watching. Meanwhile, ABC had a two-hour new Bachelor Pad (1.1/3), followed by a new The Glass House (0.6/2) at 10 PM. Bachelor Pad was down 27% from last week for the reality show’s lowest rating ever. The Glass House was down 25% from last week’s show, also hitting its lowest rating to date. On CBS, it was an evening of repeats with How I Met Your Mother (0.9/3), 2 Broke Girls (1.0/3), Two And A Half Men (1.1/3), Mike & Molly (1.1/3) and Hawaii Five-O (0.9/2). Fox had two repeats of Hell’s Kitchen at 8 PM (1.1/3) and 9 PM (1.2/3)

Despite a second consecutive week of huge drops, the Ashton Kutcher-ized "Two and a Half Men" remains a major hit and combined with the the network's resurgent 8 p.m. hour to give CBS an easy Monday win among young viewers. Meanwhile, although ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" slipped with young viewers, it actually grew slightly overall, as ABC ruled Monday in that measure.

A record audience of 27.7 million watched "Two and A Half Men" bury Charlie Sheen and introduce new star Ashton Kutcher in an all-time series high audience for the lucrative CBS comedy.

 

Charlie Sheen's arrest has had no effect on 'Two and a Half Men' ratings

The show was seen by about 11 million viewers, according to Nielsen, off only about 400,000 viewers from what reruns of the show have averaged.

 

CBS dominates Monday night ratings

Repeats of CBS' flagship comedies "The Big Bang Theory" (3.0 rating/8 share in adults 18-49) and "Two and a Half Men" (2.7/7) were the highest-rated programs of the night by a mile, with a rerun of another CBS series, drama "CSI: Miami" (2.2/6) coming in third.
