ROGERSVILLE — The $669,480 price tag of Cherokee High School's new wastewater treatment plant will be hard on Hawkins County taxpayers, especially in light of this year's 12 cent property tax increase.On Monday, however, director of schools Steve Starnes presented school board members with a couple of potential alternative funding sources that might help ease the pain.Monday afternoon the Hawkins County Commission's Budget Committee recommended approval of a $669,480 school budget amendment to cover the cost of replacing Cherokee's 34-year-old sewer plant.The BOE accepted that price as the low bid on Oct.
