Thailand Beats Host Singapore 2-1 In Suzuki Cup

SINGAPORE (AP) — Chaaryl Cappuis converted a penalty with just two minutes left to give Thailand a 2-1 victory over host and defending champion Singapore in their opening match of the Suzuki Cup. The result Sunday at the National Stadium was the first time Singapore has lost an opening match of the region's premier soccer tournament in its last five editions. Tournament favorite Thailand opened the scoring on six minutes with a goal from Mongkol Thosakrai before Khairul Amri headed an equalizer on 19 minutes.Read more on NewsOK.com
