Thomson Man, 18, Killed Tuesday Night

The Thomson Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are investigating a shooting that happened Tuesday night around 10 p.m. in the Springfield Apartment area. According to McDuffie County deputy coroner Paul Johnson, the coroner’s office was called to University Hospital McDuffie around 10:30 p.m. Johnson pronounced the shooting victim, 18 year old Brian Tarks, of Lee Drive, Thomson, dead in the emergency room.
