After being released from a 15-year stint in prison due to good behaviour, Tray (Tracy Morgan) returns home and is shocked to discover just how much his newly gentrified Brooklyn neighbourhood has changed. He also finds that his former girlfriend, Shay (Tiffany Haddish) has married an affable, successful white man, who is helping to raise the two kids Tray never knew existed.
