Click to view slideshow. By Donica Phifer New Albany Gazette JACKSON – West Union’s lone senior, Callie Baggett, stepped up when it mattered most. Her free throws in overtime helped the Eagles to a 57-57 win over Bogue Chitto on Wednesday in a MHSAA Class 1A State Tournament quarterfinal game. West Union (22-10) held the lead for almost the entire 32 minutes of regulation until a basket by Bogue Chitto’s Zariah Matthews sent the game to OT tied at 47. Baggett – who hit four 3-pointers in the first half – and Gracen Conlee each led the way with 16 points. “She had the game of her life,” West Union coach Matt Thompson said of Baggett, “I’ve seen her go through practice all year and make 10 or 12 shots in a row, but it’s never translated into a game until today.
