Utah Drug Cop Charged With Misuse Of Funds Makes Initial Court Appearance

A veteran Unified Police narcotics detective who is accused of misusing thousands of dollars from an undercover drug buy fund made an initial court appearance on Thursday. Kenneth Randall, 49, is charged with second-degree felony misuse of public money and class B misdemeanor official misconduct. He appeared Salt Lake City’s 3rd District Court early Thursday and was appointed a pubic defender after telling a judge he is indigent.
