Vacant Coventry House Destroyed By Fire

By Maria ArmentalCOVENTRY, R.I. -- An early morning fire that destroyed a vacant house on Piggy Lane remains under investigation, fire officials said. Western Coventry firefighters were dispatched to 208 Piggy Ln. at 4:35 Thursday morning, Capt. Robert Mann said. When firefighters arrived, the house was engulfed, Mann said. The house had been vacant for years and power had been long disconnected, Mann said. No injuries were reported. Central Coventry and Hopkins Hill firefighters along with West Greenwich assisted.
