Sega has announced that Valkyria Chronicles 4 will be coming to the Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One here in the west sometime in 2018. This latest installment in the popular alternate World War 2 fantasy series will take place during the same timeframe as the original Valkyria Chronicles but feature a new cast of characters. Valkyria Chronicles 4 will also bring back the BLiTZ battle system, which blends strategy, RPG, and real-time third-person shooter elements. A new Grenadier class and battleship support options have been added, as well as 'Last Stand' actions and larger scale battles. Additionally, the familiar hand-drawn art style and the return of Hitoshi Sakimoto as composer sees the series return to its roots after becoming more of a more hack-and-slash style game for this year's poorly received spin-off Valkyria Revolution.
